    nice looking pics

They must have lost their way ๐Ÿ™‚ Handsome fella!

    • Actually, Madhu, these creatures are totally urbanized and must know there way very well. The good thing is that the locals are so tolerant with their local deer population, because deer have a way of destroying a beautiful (and tasty) garden very quickly.

  3. Some really nice shots…what a great find!

    • Thank you Kirsten, it is a find alright, I have never on Vancouver Island seen 5 stags in a front yard. This is Victoria and the yard next to it showed us a brand new fawn just beginning to try out its limbs next to its mother. I walked up to one of the stags within arms length but the beast was not going anywhere.

      • That is truly AMAZNG…the only place I’ve ever seen anything even close to that…was on Lopez Island. They are not the least bit intimidated by a “human encounter” BUT… VICTORIA..now that’s a totally different story.

Wow! You came pretty close to them ๐Ÿ˜€ Lovely photos ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Weekend!

    • Thanks Wolke. Deer are invading town and city, or more precise, human expansion invades deer territory and their ancient feeding grounds have been turned into pretty gardens with lots of tasty stuff for them. But not everyone likes them alive and the freezer is a real danger to them.Und haben Sie auch ein schรถnes Wochenende.

  5. Love this post, my friend! We frequently have these deer-folk in our own backyard and it’s a real highlight to watch them. They are great animals to see and enjoy, and your photography really brings this to life for everyone!

    • Got out of the car with camera and kept on walking closer taking photos. Almost too easy. My photography has gone from projects in the eighties to run-ins these days. It’s all good, but… At any rate this was something very special to come across and I am glad you appreciate this post.
